Beth Layman, LSW, LICD-CS

Hello, I’m Beth Layman. I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor – Clinical Supervisor (LICDC-CS), with over 26 years of experience supporting individuals and families facing mental health and substance use challenges.
My journey into this field began 27 years ago, during a difficult chapter in my own life. I was referred to a treatment agency where I met counselors who profoundly changed my life. They helped me believe in myself, recognize that I matter, and, most importantly, realize that “I can.” That experience inspired a complete transformation in my life—and a promise: that one day, I would give to others what was so generously given to me.
That promise has guided my work ever since. My mantra in this journey has become: “Freedom to Fly, Power to Begin Again.”
As a dual diagnosis therapist, I specialize in working with individuals experiencing both mental health and substance use issues. I’ve had the privilege of working with adolescents (16+), adults, women, men, couples, and families. I’ve supported clients through a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, anger management, impulse control issues, schizophrenia, life transitions, chronic pain, grief, and codependency.
Sometimes, you may not have a label for what you're going through—you just know you need a safe space to talk and process. If that’s where you are, I’m here to walk alongside you. Together, we can work toward clarity, healing, and the goals you hope to achieve.

Angela Swolsky, LMFT, LCDCII

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor specializing in the relational dynamics that influence the challenges faced by individuals, couples, and families. My therapeutic approach is rooted in systemic and evidence-based practices, drawing from narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care.
Under the supervision of Dr. Heather Katafiasz, Ph.D., I work to de-pathologize and externalize problems—creating a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to create meaningful and lasting change. My clinical philosophy centers on empathy, collaboration, and deep respect for the strengths each client brings into the therapeutic process.
With extensive experience across outpatient, telehealth, and institutional settings, I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of populations—from adolescents to older adults. I address a variety of concerns, including substance use, mental health issues, trauma, and complex family dynamics. In both individual and group settings, I guide clients in developing SMART goals and support them in creating new narratives that align with their values and vision for the future.
I hold a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University, where I was inducted into Delta Kappa, the International Honor Society for Marriage and Family Therapy. Beyond clinical practice, I have contributed to wellness programming, authored the Client Companion Guide to Reclaim Your Brain, and facilitated community-based recovery initiatives, including the My Family Recovers program in partnership with the Cleveland Police Department.
