Debbie Cox, LCPC

I love working with adults, whether it be someone with a history of trauma or abuse, to a busy working person who just has “stuff” that they need to work through and process! I use a strengths-based approach, with a goal of supporting, healing, and strengthening the best YOU that YOU can be! I am trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), Somatic techniques, DBT (dialectical behavior therapy), and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), and I work to find the best combination to optimally help the individual in YOU. I am also working towards IFS certification (Internal Systems Therapy), which provides an individual with a space to explore the different parts of themselves to both heal from trauma as well as to provide insight into your inner self and how YOU tick!
My experience varies from supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as other traumas, to working in a community agency setting as well as in nursing homes with our aging population. I incorporate different grounding techniques, breathwork, and guided meditations, to provide stability in our work together as well as to give you tools for after you leave my office. I offer telehealth throughout Montana, and my office is located in Missoula. I look forward to working with you!

Kate Bushman,PCLC, MA, NCC

Are you someone who feels emotions deeply—or struggles to feel them at all? I’m Kate Bushman, PCLC, a counselor in Missoula, Montana. I offer a grounded, compassionate space to help you connect with your emotions, make sense of their meaning, and move toward healing and growth.
I work with individuals ages 10 and up who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, identity, and relationship concerns. My approach is rooted in Emotion-Focused Therapy and tailored to each client, while also drawing from Person-Centered and Child-Centered Play Therapy techniques.
Before becoming a counselor, I spent five seasons as a wildland firefighter. That experience gave me firsthand insight into first responder culture and sparked a passion for supporting those facing the unique challenges of this demanding work. I also care deeply about working with teens and those navigating periods of change or transition.
Though I grew up in the West, I’ve made Missoula home for its welcoming community and proximity to the mountains. Outside the therapy room, I enjoy backpacking, running, and spending time on the river.
Let’s work together to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered. Virtual appointments and a sliding fee scale are available.
