Licensed Professional Counselor
Shelly Richardson, LPC

My name is Shelly Richardson. I have a masters degree in School
Psychology and Applied Psychology along with the licensures of
Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Specialist in School
Psychology. I have been working within the public school system for
the past 21 years as a School Psychologist.
My many duties included
evaluating for both academic and emotional/behavioral disorders as
well as counseling with individual students and providing behavior
consultation/support to teachers, administrators, staff, and parents.
Prior to the school setting I spent time working with the local mental
health authority providing individual counseling, group counseling, and crisis screenings for those experiencing suicidal/homicidal ideations.
I enjoy working with all age groups and have found I particularly like
working with children and adolescents. I primarily focus on a Cognitive Behavioral approach in therapy which can be very helpful in treating anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders. I also have experience working with Autistic populations as well including working with families to set up a system of support in the home environment. I now look forward to serving children/families and adults both within and beyond the school setting.
