Outpatient Clinician
Mark Maurath

Hello! My name is Mark (he/him), and I am now accepting Telehealth clients in Boulder, Colorado. I consider my beginnings in the field of mental health to be as a teenager seeking help. Through my own therapy I've come to recognize resilience within myself, and my desire to help others do the same. My goal with my clients is for them to feel heard, validated, and reminded of the strength they hold within themselves to face life's greatest challenges. Whether that challenge be related to grief, struggle to find motivation, feeling overwhelmed at school or work, or life transitions. I would like to lend an ear and help explore, develop, and refine the special qualities you already possess!
My clinical focus is primarily geared toward adolescents and young adults with depression, generalized and social anxiety, in addition to neurodiverse individuals. I utilize Cognitive Behaviorial Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy to help my clients reach their goals, whatever they may be. I too see myself as always learning and evolving, and acknowledge my clients as the expert of their own experience.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from Otterbein University (Westerville, OH) in 2015, and my Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University (Columbus, OH) in 2021. Through my career, I have provided mental health services to students with Autism, group treatment through a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program, and suicide prevention and crisis services. Over time, I have developed a passion for utilizing outdoor and experiential pursuits as part of the therapeutic process, and look forward to integrating Boulder's unique landscape into my practice. When I'm not working, you can find me snowboarding, hiking with my dog, rock climbing, or in a Muay Thai class!
