Layce Jemison, LPC-Associate

Layce Jemison is an Associate Licensed Counselor under the supervision of Shenetra Alexander, LPC-S. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Jacksonville State University and her Master of Science in Counseling from Walden University.
For several years, she has worked with individuals, adolescents, and young adults, addressing concerns such as depression, trauma, domestic violence, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral challenges in adolescents, self-esteem, family dynamics, coping strategies, cognitive reframing, life and career transitions, grief, stress management, work-life balance, and relationship issues.
Layce’s approach is dynamic, adaptable, and personalized to meet the unique needs, strengths, and goals of each client. Her warm, empathetic, and personable nature fosters a supportive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Her primary mission is to educate, advocate for, and uplift individuals seeking emotional healing, well-being, and an improved quality of life.

Odele Prentice, LPC NCC

I'm Odele, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, including leadership roles in both hospital and outpatient settings. I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, anger management, men's issues, career changes, ADHD, behavioral issues, and more. I prioritize creating a supportive environment and respect all clients, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. I genuinely enjoy hearing the narratives of others and exploring family systems, offering support through unconditional positive regard. My humanistic and existential approach emphasizes meaning-making, helping clients explore their values and experiences for personal growth and self-discovery. Romalyn Aaron

Roma is an Asian American, female, who is from the Philippines. She grew up in California prior to joining the military in 2002 (12 years active duty) where she met her husband while both were assigned in South Korea. Roma is a combat Veteran who served in the Iraqi Freedom Campaign (2009-2010) with a Military Police Brigade. She has been a resident of Alabama since 2007. Roma has two adult children and 17 fur babies. She has been providing counseling while in the Army to her soldiers and professionally in the civilian sector since 2014. Roma has a superfluity of experience in working with all age groups from toddlers to as young as 90 with mental health concerns. She is a trauma-informed therapist specializing in trauma, substance use, problematic sexual/behavior, and other SMI-related symptoms. Roma is a lifelong learner with master’s degrees in education, psychology, human services marriage and family, professional counseling and currently working on a doctoral-level certification in education specialty in community care and counseling traumatology en route to her doctorate in education in the same degree. Roma is eclectic in modalities using a mixture of CBT, DBT, MI, SFBT, CPT, Seeking Safety, Mindfulness and many more. Roma is EMDR trained through the EMDR Institute and working on certification through EMDRIA.

Caroline Pinson, Counselor

My name is Caroline Pinson. I am a recent graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham with my Master’s in Counseling and a concentration in clinical mental health. I am passionate about mental health and collaborating with my clients to meet their therapeutic goals. I worked last year at The Amelia Center grief counseling children ages 5-19. I enjoy working with children and specialize in utilizing a unique combination of trauma informed CBT and play therapy to meet their individual and developmental needs. I am a firm believer that with a supportive and empathetic environment where children feel seen, heard, and understood, they can reach their fullest potential. I will be working as an Associate Licensed Counselor here at Nora under the supervision of Sarah Cherry, LPC-S and look forward to helping you and your family work together towards your individual therapeutic goals.
